Lake Tyrell salt lake and its associated saltworks make for great minimalist style aerial images. Here the access tracks bisect the storage ponds giving an idea of scale. Being my first trip and where I learnt to fly a drone, these images are from a fixed wing flight and the trusty Canon.
After a rather hairy car trip up the western side of the Hotham ski area, I arrived just in time for the soft light and were rewarded with a dreamlike layered mountain scene fading into soft twilight tones. It was only a couple of degrees Celsius at the time, so beanies, gloves and anything warm from the car got thrown on to wait for the right time for this shot.
Lake Tyrell displaying some of the soft changes in colour pallets of the salt lakes surrounding an island of saltbush and sand. The banded colours and white salt crusted edges give an abstract melted ice cream look. Being my first trip and where I learnt to fly a drone, these images are from a fixed wing flight and the trusty Canon.
The banded layers of salt from pink to crimson and white give a 3-dimensional abstract melted ice cream look to the landscapes from above. Being my first trip and where I learnt to fly a drone, these images are from a fixed wing flight and the trusty Canon.
Lake Tyrell in Victoria is a feast for aerial photographers. The constant changing water levels and salinity provide an ever-changing environment so many return here every year. Being my first trip and where I learnt to fly a drone, these images are from a fixed wing flight and the trusty Canon.
